What is stored
- Your email address.
- Your answer to the question whether you have an iPhone, if you give it.
- The language of the page and, if you came through a link, its source (for example the name of a video or site).
- The country you sign up from. Cloudflare derives it from your IP address; only the country code is kept, not the IP address.
- When you signed up and confirmed.
What for
To email you when Grained goes on sale, and to estimate how much demand there is for Android and in which countries Grained goes on sale first. Answers are only looked at in total. Grained doesn't email you about anything else and doesn't sell or share your details.
Legal basis
Your consent, which you give by confirming through the link in the email. You can withdraw it at any time.
Where and how long
The data is stored in a Cloudflare database. The confirmation and launch emails are sent through Resend. Cloudflare and Resend are US companies, so your details may be processed in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is the basis for that transfer. Should that lapse, the EU standard contractual clauses apply. Your details are kept until Grained goes on sale and the launch email has been sent, or until you unsubscribe. A sign-up that isn't confirmed within 30 days is deleted.
Unsubscribing and your rights
Every email has a link to unsubscribe, which deletes your details straight away. You can also email to see, correct or delete your details, restrict their processing, object, or receive them in a common file format. You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
